This album fuses political revolution, activism and rebellion with world grooves, rockin' reggae beats, and soulfull melodies. Corp. It will not disappoint. I was already a T. fan. Now I'm a devotee.
However, it seemed as if Thievery had digressed from their original style. When I purchase music produced by Thievery Corporation I never even sample their songs because I know it will be quality music. I am a big Thievery fan. This album is certainly not as 'smooth' as something like the "Mirror Conspiracy" or "Sounds From The Thievery Hi-Fi." Moreover, I thought this album was too political. Thus, I did not listen to the songs prior to purchasing this album. And, without surprise, "Radio Retaliation" is a quality album. Usually Thievery puts in one or two songs that send a strong message to the audience, as in "The Richest Man in Babylon." But, in my opinion, Thievery could have slightly toned down the political aspect of this album. Nonetheless, this album is another great work produced by Thievery Corporation, and an enjoyable listening experience.

The music is nice to throw into the stereo and kick back with a drink or two after work. I have only heard only one other album by them (which was VERSIONS)besides RADIO RETAILIATION. I am not really familiar with Thievery Corporation. The music is pleasant but often repetitive and dull.I have to admit the album took some time to grow on me and I have to be in the right mood to listen to it. I decided to check out the group's latest album from my library. I liked their blend of laid-back electronic beats with ethnic folk music. I am not a huge fan of chill out music as I once was a few years ago. There wasn't really any songs on the album that stood out with me.
La Femme Parallel is wonderful, moving, haunting even. While not the best TC album, Radio still delivers an amazing musical experience. The first track, Sound the Alarm, engages right off the bat with an explosive beat. The rest is good, with some tracks lacking a bit. Good album overall.
